I have a confession to make: I’ve been keeping something from you all. I’ve been having a love affair. It was a slow burn for quite some time, but lately it’s become a full-on longing and NEED. You see – I’m in love with a dresser. A campaign dresser to be exact. Jefe and I are actually in the market for a storage piece to replace this guy below (please excuse the horrible or should I say complete lack of styling on the dresser top) and I’d love nothing more than to bring a little campaign home.
To Jefe’s point, the campaign style doesn’t REALLY go with anything we currently have. But that just gives me an excuse to do a little more restyling which I will obviously take an opportunity to do ;-). Honestly, I think a deep red with some serious vintage brass hardware could work; we have plenty of red tones in our living room and adding some gold accents wouldn’t be hard. And I’d love to bring in a quality vintage piece in to our otherwise newly furnished home.
So here’s a little ode to the other love of my life, Mr. Campaign.
A great, tall white version from Emily Henderson:
And in Emerald, one of my other many loves:
A great desk version from Centsational Girl:
I’m head over heels for this indigo version:
And here’s a great, cost-effective DIY version that’s actually an Ikea Rast hacked to campaign perfection:
So what do you guys think? Is anyone else crushing on Mr. Campaign quite like I am? He is VERY trendy right now, but as it is a true vintage piece, just with some updated colors, I think it could fit in to a variety of styles and spaces and not look dated 2 years from now.
Happy Saturday to you all; Jefe and I are headed out for our usual Saturday night out: Dodger Stadium!
(My stripes obsession has progressed to our bedding…. that update to come!)
I have the same obsession and have had a few grace my life. I repainted a pair of nightstands and have one in my basement waiting to be painted for my son’s room. I have one I am picking up tomorrow – so excited! So happy to find another that loves the campaign dressers as much as I do.

This totally makes me think of (and appreciate) the small table/nightstand I have with the Asian inspired hinges. I might have to keep my paintbrushes out to get a nice accent piece going…
